My Current Relationship With Media

Media constantly surrounds most peoples lives, including mine. From reading news headlines to constantly hearing advertisements on radio stations, media is constantly bombarding my day-to-day life. For many of my classes at school, I am given homework assignments that require me to go online to seek out opinions, news, or even scientific research. When i am walking from class to class or going home from school, even if it's a short period of time, I always look at my cell-phone to check for any messages that I might have received, or to check social media. In a way, I think media has both brought people together, and made people more distant from each other. People are able to communicate much faster and more often thanks to social media. People are also given the opportunity to meet other people using social media. On the other hand, most people will stay connected to a source of media via cell-phones or other devices rather than starting a conversation with people around them. Media is very useful because of the information that we can find so fast. It can also be a bit deceiving though. I am always very skeptical of many of the news sources that claim to be unbiased or present the correct information because there is so much freedom for almost anybody to use media and present false claims. people begin to believe things that aren't necessarily true just because the information is presented in a semi-professional fashion on the internet. I think that media is very beneficial for a lot of people because of the jobs and opportunities it creates. so many people are employed to help people with their technology or present the news through articles or news shows, as well as create applications and design websites. Many people also find opportunities through media to advertise new services that they can offer, which is beneficial in creating jobs and making things convenient for consumers. I like to draw, and media helps create a fast and easy way to find references to anatomical structures  or architecture and perspective. I am very thankful for media because it is so much more convenient to research things and find information faster. I view media in a mostly positive way because of the opportunities and connections it creates. I think that it helps people to discover new things as well.
